Paul Eugene Benigni
Ebensburg. Age 89, Passed away May 30, 2020 Conemaugh Hospital. Born April 27, 1931 in Colver. Son of Guido and Carmella “Carrie” ( Tedeschi ) Benigini. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by his wife Rose, and three children; Lisa Ruggery, Goldsboro, NC; Barbara Albanese, Sunnyvale, CA; and Paul R. Benigni, Ebensburg. Four loving grandchildren, Alaina and Megan Ruggery; and Alessandra and Eric Albanese. Brother of Rose Skibo, Levittown, PA, also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He had many relatives and friends who knew and loved him and he will be greatly missed. Prior to becoming ill, Paul enjoyed bowling, hunting, playing cards, woodworking, in addition to several other hobbies. Paul was a graduate of California University of PA and received a Master’s Degree from Indiana University of PA. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and retired from Blacklick Valley School District. He was a member of Holy Name Church, Knights of Columbus and Son’s of Italy. Family will receive friends Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, and we ask you to wear masks and keep a social distance. Entombment at Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Holy Name Church or a charity of your choice in Paul’s memory. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to everyone who provided prayers and support during this time of sorrow. St. Paul says our earthly bodies are like tents that wear out, but God will provide a new heavenly dwelling that will never wear out, that will last forever. (1 Cor. 15 ).
